ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP

Hotrock Climbing Wall has introduced an annual membership to the climbing wall.  There is now the option of paying an annual fee, which entitles you to free entry to the wall for the remainder of the year through this membership scheme, or you can still continue to pay a one off entry fee each time you use the wall. 

On completion of the application form and payment of this annual entry fee, you will be issued with a membership card, which must be shown every time you use the wall. 

Entry fees and the new annual membership for 2007 are as follows:

*Discounted rate applies to under 18s, MCI members, unemployed, students and OAPs.  Proof must be provided.

Lost membership cards can be replaced subject to payment of a £10 administration fee.

Under 18s

Under the membership system, under 14’s must be supervised by a parent, but 14-18’s can complete an ‘Independent Wall Users Test’.

An Independent Wall Users Test is a short test of technical knowledge, climbing ability and awareness of policies and procedures in Hotrock Climbing Wall. It should last no longer than 30 minutes and will include the following:

1. Applicant to be able to use and understand equipment used, including chosen belay devices
2. Applicant to lead a route of their choice competently
3. Applicant to belay another climber on a route competently
4. Applicant to be able to use an auto belay device competently
5. Applicant to answer some short questions on use of the wall, rules and regulations.

This Independent Wall Users Test is only valid for use at Hotrock Climbing Wall.
